Here's a young boy's silhouette, placed onto a new mat I created today, then framed in a simple, yet elegant aluminum frame.

Animated characters are designed to be posed for clear, expressive silhouettes. Cutting Mike's pose was a good test of full body cutting. His pose gave a variety in limb positions, and expresses a clear attitude. His mouth was created as 'hollow cut', to which I added a narrow cut piece that represents the negative space between his teeth.

Tom Cruise

Tom has very stylized hair, and quite distinctive facial features.

I think a poster showing all 44 US presidents' silhouettes would look great on a wall...if I can find profile (or near so) photos of them all!

Julia Roberts

Julia's hair flowed around her head and face so beautifully that I wanted to see how it would look in silhouette. I think it worked out well.

Children are very common subject for silhouettes. This young boy's face had a lot of character, making it appealing to cut in silhouette.
